CleverPun
I was wondering if anybody could tell me the difference in body design between an SG and an SG Junior. I appreciate the help.
WezV
pretty much the same shape i think. the difference is in pickups, scratchplate and hardware.
CleverPun
pretty much the same shape i think. the difference is in pickups, scratchplate and hardware. Yeah, that was what I thought. There was a site that had a CAD download of an SG, and I wasn't sure if I had to use I different file, or if the typical SG one would work. Now on a different note, how do you make the slant on the edges of an SG? I don't know how better to describe them, but I'm sure you know what I mean. RGman
It would be the same size, as LP is to LP junior. The bevels can be done a number of ways, spokeshaves, rasps etc..
WezV
even more simlar than a LP and LP jnr, they have differences with the neck pocket and obviously the flat body. i think SG jnr's have the same style and shaping and neck join of the full SG's. Draw a line around the edge of the guitar as deep as you want the bevels to go, at a guess i would say 3/8" - 1/2" down from the front edge. then draw another line on the front face where the bevles would be on an SG. Then, using a rasp or similar, join those two lines. Try and keep the rasp moving straight and at the angle of the bevel - its quite easy to round them off a bit too much and you want it sharp on an SG
