Masina
What do ya reckon? could a guitar body be sand blasted smooth prior to finishing. It would save an awful lot of time if it worked. Anyone heard of it?
brutas
You could sandblast a body to give it an aged, weathered look; but not to make it smooth. Sandblasting on wood eats away the softer fibers and leaves the harder ones protruding making the wood look older and grainier. It may be a cool look, but it wouldn't be smooth. Masina
Thanks, I thought it was too good to be true, however maybe interesting patterns could be achieved...
ihocky2
It would probably be a quick way to remove the heavy two part poly's that is used these days. But you would still have to sand everything smooth. As long as you keep the gun moving and are carefull as you get closer to the wood though, I think it would be a quick way to remove paint if you have access to a blasting cabinet.
