Santos Mahogany(this I am familiar with). Heavy, very hard, and it has a color similar to a dark Mahogany. I would say for a solid body weight will be a big consideration (maybe some chambering or weight loss would be in order). I have run across several nice resonant pieces that interested me for acoustic backs and sides. Think of it somewhat like Jatoba(Brazilian Cherry). Peace,Rich Quote
