rootsbloodyroots Posted October 14, 2007 Report Posted October 14, 2007 i made a bass and it looks good sounds good and all but i kinda messed up the placing of the bridge its a 26 fret high c 5 string and the intonation is a tad sharp above the twelve fret. ive moved the saddles as far back as possible so am i right in thinking theres nothing else i can do and just live with it slightly out? any help or advice would be very much appreciated. Digideus Posted October 14, 2007 Report Posted October 14, 2007 Bolt on? If so, you could raise the neck angle slightly by installing a shim under the neck joint. That would alter the length of the string a tad and you could then intonate corectly. Other than that......put it down to experience and dont do it on your 2nd one Quote
mammoth guitars Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 What kind of bridge is it? You may be able to fill and redrill and not even see the change. Quote
rootsbloodyroots Posted October 15, 2007 Author Report Posted October 15, 2007 its a gotoh quick release bridge. i could try a neck shim indeed. thanks for your help. yes i guess it is just an experience thing i tend to just throw myself in at the deep end and learn as i go along. atleast i learned something.
