mattharris75
So, i've done about a dozen coats of tru oil on my neck. I had taped over the fretboard, but clearly there were gaps around the frets. When I went to pull off the tape this evening there were sticky dried on deposits of tru oil in small lines where it had seeped under the tape. My question is, what is my best option for getting rid of the excess tru oil? Some kind of chemical like paint thinner, scraping, sanding, etc?...This is pretty annoying, but I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. I'm sure someone else has had this same problem. How do you guys take care of it?
Jon
Fine steel wool will remove it without harming anything else.
