MescaBug
Hello, I did a search but didn't find anything useful. Would it be a good idea to make a one piece only guitar? I mean cutting, carving and shaping the neck and body from one solid piece of wood? Nobody seems to be doing this, mainly because you need a goddamn big piece of wood, but is there any other disadvantages? I'm asking because I got a 8/4, 6' X 20" piece of american mahogany for real cheap. I know I will loose lots of wood by doing that, but that doesn't matter. I won't have to cut, plan and glue the wings, which means no glue joint at all, except the fingerboard and the scarf joint. I would appreciate some comments about this. Thanks!
