krazyderek
i'm not to crazy about the design, but i have wanted to try out a set of paf pro's.... as per the cross roads dual isn't that the pickup vai is playing in that movie? mullmuzzler
It is very interesting guitar (there are a few pattern variations: 3 for the body front, 3 for the body rear and 3 for the headstock I think). I like it because it has old neck joint (not that I'm a fan of it, but it reminds me of 80's). It is kinda "flower-sixties-age-of-aquarius-man guitar (who said: Strawberry Statement? HEHEHEHE). mullmuzzler | OSSMT
Speedy McFeely
i have an '88 77fp. it is my favorite guitar, it plays great, sounds great and has a vibe that no other guitar has. i have had all kinds of remarks on it. if you are into vai, then you know this was the axe to have in the 80's. i have a couple of jems, the fp is my fave. (my other is a 7dbk)

I'm not sure what type of p/u's Steve had on Green Meanie back then. Could have been the same... As for the comment about Ibanez having weak p/u's... Their own stuff may not be the best, but JEMs come with DiMarzios.
