bigred84
Hey guys, I have a body of an old electric guitar, and it already has the bridge in place. I plan to build a neck from scratch, so my question is how do I determine the scale length of the neck that was used on it previously? Thanks, Jfats
mammoth guitars
If you have the neck you can measure from the inside of the nut to the 12th fret and multiply by 2 to get the scale. Without the neck you can design the new neck to fit with the position of the bridge. What is the distance from the neck pocket to the E string saddle? With that dimension you may be able to come up with the scale based on typical guitar designs.
