Muzz
Do wraparound bridges have any pros? they do have a con, you can't do vibrato on them. And, just curious, why would you want to make one out of wood? Edited November 21, 2007 by Muzz

Muzz
G’day Wez, It is a technical and therefore an intellectual challenge, and it has stimulated a lot of chat on this thread. Yeah, it would be fun to see someone do it. Who knows, next stop a wooden Floyd Rose Rock and roll.
Mattia
Well, there's tuning stability, sustain, small footprint, aesthetics. At least, for me; vibrato isn't terribly useful or even desired for all playing styles, certainly not mine. I've got a few with trems, I'll build a few more with trems, but I don't think I'll ever build a floyd-equipped guitar for myself, because I don't like the aesthetics, I'm not wild about the sound, it adds a 'thing that can go wrong' (wraparounds adhere fairly closely to the KISS principle; few if any moving parts, lock in place, won't budge after that). A Khaler, maybe. The wood, well, that becomes an aesthetic choice, and might have some fun tonal influence if it can be made to work.
