...that's because it's a mortise and tenon like pretty much any other, and plans don't tend to explain how to do things, just show you what the end result should look like.

Look up any discussion on Les Paul building, tenons, angles, gluing, etc. and you should be able to work it out. What shape you make the tenon is really up to you, but the main thing to keep in mind is to make sure there's enough meat to the joint, that you don't route all the way through everthing when you route for the neck pickup.
