Devin Columbus
As I've noticed, the plans that I currently have don't give any explanation as to how the neck should be cut, shaped, and connected to the SG body... does anyone know where I can find some detailed Gibson SG neck dimensions or descriptions? Thanks in advance.
Mattia
...that's because it's a mortise and tenon like pretty much any other, and plans don't tend to explain how to do things, just show you what the end result should look like. Look up any discussion on Les Paul building, tenons, angles, gluing, etc. and you should be able to work it out. What shape you make the tenon is really up to you, but the main thing to keep in mind is to make sure there's enough meat to the joint, that you don't route all the way through everthing when you route for the neck pickup. jrjr
Devin, Are you using the plans I sent you? I'll try to make a better drawing showing the neck tenon. I'll have to make some assumptions about the dimensions & such. Thanks jrjr
cajunboy2k
Are these the same plans that you have? http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/11/25/1607035/SG.pdf
