for some reason the pictures in the 5 string bass pictorial is not working

I want to pull the frets on my bass, and would just like to get a scoop on how to fill the fret slots. I know I use laminates, but how do I trim the excess off?

chisel, sandpaper, files, small saw. you name it.

I like to use a sharp chisel to remove the excess wood and then use sandpaper with a rubber block.
