deeboy
I recently stripped off the finish of a guitar body using a heat gun. I was fortunate enough to get down to the sanding sealer. I need to repair some dents and cracks with bondo. Do I need to seal over it before I prime or can I just sand everything smooth w/ 320 grit and prime over it? syxxstring
Depends on your primer, but you should be good to primer over your filler.
Drak
No matter what you use, you may see it show up in a few years because of the two different materials expanding and contracting at different rates. I would sand to 400 minimum I think, depending on primer or no primer, and whether you intend to apply a few coats and sand level therafter before applying more color coats to help smooth it out and hide it. SnowGTR
Bondo is good for cars but not for guitars. Steam out the minor dents and use epoxy to fill any dents you can't steam out. There is filler that is designed for wood, but I don’t know what it’s called.
Drak
AFAIK, you can only steam dents out of raw bare wood. This guitar still has the primer coat on it.
