Thoughtless 7 Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 I know you can get drop in phaser circuit boards, but would i be able to use that at the same time as the wah? I also want to set it up so that when the pedal is all the way down its off, rather than the DPDT. Any one got any tips on this? Quote
ansil Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 led ldr with a dual pot one way to get started for the all the way down is off i will see if i can dig around although currently not online much Quote
digi2t Posted January 23, 2008 Report Posted January 23, 2008 Just so I understand the jist of what your trying to do; Do you want the phaser and the wah working together, or one mode phaser and another mode wah? Cheers Quote
Thoughtless 7 Posted January 23, 2008 Author Report Posted January 23, 2008 Working together. The only Phaser boards i've seen so far have been way out of my budget. So now i'll just sit and wait and see if i can get an old phaser pedal and convert that. This project has been pushed down my list a bit at the moment cos i havea lot of work on at the moment. >_< Quote
bluesman94 Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 (edited) that sounds really awesome Edited April 6, 2008 by bluesman94 Quote
bluesman94 Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 (edited) but wouldn't it be easier to just to use a phaser pedal, AND a wah pedal, or were you planning on having an auto wah kind of thing? Edited April 6, 2008 by bluesman94 Quote
Thoughtless 7 Posted April 6, 2008 Author Report Posted April 6, 2008 Sort of. I have a Dunlop Variphase pedal which is essentially built into a Wah casing, so my theory is, i could use a wah case and circuit board with the phaser circuit board in one casing and turning them on at the same time exactly the same wah you would turn on a normal wah pedal. Paul Marossy Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 (edited) To pull that off, I think you would need to use a dual pot. Which means you will probably have to modify the wah shell a little bit to be able to fit a dual pot in there. Your main challenge will be trying to fit two circuitboards in the same wah shell. Thoughtless 7 Posted April 7, 2008 Author Report Posted April 7, 2008 Yeah, i was thinking that. I was thinking about modding the bottom to end up looking slightly like a Morley. I'll take both the pedals apart tonight and see what i can with the space. So, you think a Dual pot is needed...hmmm Quote
Paul Marossy Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 So, you think a Dual pot is needed...hmmm Yes. Two different circuits. I don't think you'd be happy trying to do it with a single pot (assuming there isn't any negative interactions trying to use a single pot) because you will probably want your sweeps to be different from what single pot will give you... Thoughtless 7 Posted April 7, 2008 Author Report Posted April 7, 2008 Can you link me to a pot i COULD use? I'm having trouble finding any (ones that will fit a wah pedal anyway). Quote
Paul Marossy Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 I had to buy some NOS pots off of ebay to do my Parapedal clone, which is a circuit that uses a dual pot. I had to do a lot of filing to get it to fit into my CryBaby wah shell, but it fit... Quote
Thoughtless 7 Posted April 8, 2008 Author Report Posted April 8, 2008 After looking at both the boards and cases, i had an idea. I'm wondering if i could somehow have one pot on one side of the lever and put the other on the other side. Or have them both on the same side and just rotate the wires on the Wah pot for it to work properly. Make sense? Quote
borge Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 have you put your variphase and a wah side by side with your foot on both to see what it sounds like? I've tried a few dual function pedals and found them very limiting to the point i didn't use them after 2 minutes trying to find a workable compromise between the two FX's. then again this idea seems in another league to the ones ive used, i cant wait to hear it! Yeah, good point. It's a bit of work to enlarge that wah pot opening... Quote
