Bmth Builder
No one ever seems to paint neck pockets, can any one tell me why? I mean finishes are thin and as long as they were flat I cant see why it would be a problem to still have a finish on a bolt on neck pocket? Surely something must be used to at least seal the wood even if no finish is used? Cheers
killemall8
if you need to seal it, just put some oil or something in it. a neck pocket is supposed to fit so tight you can lift up the body with the neck without it falling out. if you put even one coat of anything in there it wont fit. you just dont even need to in the first place. the only reason you would really need to is to protect it from water when you watersand it, but like i said you can just use a bit of linseed oil or water seal that wont build up.
