Donut Man
Any idea how they do it? It looks like some sort of finish done with a sponge maybe? It could also be a graphic, but that would be very difficult since the TAT/TAT II are both arched top with necks in the same finish. I did a quick search on google and on here but I couldn't find any info.
Xanthus
It's most likely sponge painted. Reminds me of this from Perry. Rumor has it he used some sort of crackle paint and saran wrap.
killemall8
its marbilizer paint from HOK. spray it over a black base, then dab it with a bunched up plastic grocery bag.
syxxstring
Looks more like they just turned the presure down on the gun and textured it than marbelizer. Marbelizer has a pearl look to it. You can also do it with an angled popsicle stick in front of an airbrush.
rhoads56
Its not marbelizer. Its plain old solid colour paint, sprayed with very low pressure, and a large paint flow, using a big needle and nozzle. Use less thinners/reducer (none?) than usual. Hold the gun further back than normal. Practice. You only get one chance to get it right, and its hard to do.
syxxstring
I know CMT (country music televison) is evil. But Rhino the self proclaimed paint spam on Trick My Truck, shows lots of cool techniques on there. Including on a recent paint job this one. It's worth watching if you want to see a lot of cool tips and tricks he tries to work them in every episode. In fact of all the car rebuild shows you probably see more from him in a 1/2 hour than on most shows in a season.
