McInnis Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 I'm replacing the pickups in my Epiphone Sheraton II. Anyone know the best way to remove/replace existing electronics through that tiny F-hole access? I'm swapping out both pickups, the volume and tone pots and the (worthless) 3-way pickup selector. Not sure how this is done at the factory, at a repair shop, and especially not at my "luthier's bench...," as it were. Quote
DannoG Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 After you take the knobs off tie a long string to each of the posts of the pots as you take the retaining nut loose. You can tie the other ends of the string together to keep them from slipping through the holes. Then when you fish them out through the F holes just reattach the new pots to the string and pull it back to the hole. Same for switches. Quote
www Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 When you take out the bridge PU there should be a hole large enough to remove the the pots etc. Use the method of the string on the pot to pull back into place when done. It can be a pain, but not really hard. Quote
