obblitt
Is making a thin-carved top as simple as taking a flat-top (1 3/4") and doing the carve top out of that? Would that hurt the guitars structural stability in anyway? Is there any reason not to do this? My reasoning is simply for looks, I think it looks a lot cooler than a full on thick Les Paul double cut body; too boxy, chunky, heavy. Prostheta
You want a guitar body measuring 1-3/4" total thickness? As long as the neck joint is structurally good, you should be okay as there are plenty of thinner guitars out there than 1-3/4". The only issue may be pickup cavity depths and the angles with using a TOM bridge, but still - can't perceive any issues you can't get around with good planning.
