ktrip
A little over a month ago, i started my first build which i called the maplecaster, which is a semi-hollow alder body with a curly maple top with a maple mighty-mite neck. I just want a clear coat, no heavy coloring or paint. What I want to do though is get the darker, more yellowed, vintage maple look. I have read a few little things online about how you could mix something into the clear coat to give it that look. The stuff I read mentioned people doing this but it didn't say how. So how do I achieve this and what do I use? I do not have any spray equipment and really don't want to due to cost.
foil1more
You could try to wipe on a light amber dye or mix it in your clearcoat. That's what I'm going to do to my maple neck. The maple I bought is almost painfully light.
