I personally thought the core wood made the tone, not the (really thin) laminate tops. Hence the reason Warmoth did this. If snork is still around...why don't you just put a monkey grip on a carved top strat? Wouldn't that be easier to create? And for the acryllic, what about the stuff they use for acoustic guitars...that might be easer to bend--$13 bucks at Stew Mac for a 8x14.5x.018 sheet.
