Hotrock Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 Woohoo! After finding someone that sells all the parts (in the links section of all places - should have looked there first I suppose ) I'm planning on winding my own pickups. I want 2 humbuckers, both to be coil tapped and both need to have the blues. Unfortunately though, I haven't got a clue as to what parts I need. Wire, magnet and bobbin I know, but what else do I need? I don't want to break the bank, but they need to be good quality. I also know that I need to build a winder, so don't worry about that. Chjeers guys! Quote
ansil Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 hmm well one of the nicest blues pickups i ever saw had multiple windings on a humbucker that let you select the coil size . it was baically like an actual coil tap to use half the coil [ie not coil cutting] but this came with like a six or twelve way switch.. and let you play with the coil sizes. you had the first six were coil a and the second were coil b.. prestty nice.. Jehle Posted June 8, 2004 Report Posted June 8, 2004 That pickup must have looked like an octopus with all of the wires hanging out of it. That's a cool idea though. Quote
