WAK Guitars
I have what I guess is a type of round-over bit, sorry I dont know the proper name. This is a bit where the bearing on the bottom is smaller than the cutting edge above it. I was wondering if there is a safe way of enlarging the bearing so I could use it as a regular round-over bit. I seem to remember hearing some people using tape to make bearings bigger. Would that work? Thanks
kpcrash
Depending on the quality of the bit, there should be a small allen screw holding the bearing on. You can safely change that bearing for one of same height, different width - not so sure about tape.
WAK Guitars
Ok yeah I see that now, thanks!
Woodenspoke
A bit late on a reply but I have seen people use shrink tubing. That way it's a tight fit and no seam. This is for incremental size increases. Yes you need heat to shrink the tube around the bearing.
