ilago279
I was reading over the page explaining the veneer top and I'm really intrested in doing this to a LP I have but I was wondering, once you have it glued to the body can you paint over it and it be a flame effect in whatever color you choose? And also can I do this to a Lp that isnt a flat top? Edited January 7, 2009 by ilago279
kpcrash
Yes and yes - but you wouldn't use paint. Try a search on here for +dye +veneer - should give you a lot of information. Welcome to the forum!

ihocky2
You can use paint, but it has to be transparent or candy color paint. A lot of the lower end guitars with transparent tops are painted and not dyed. Even some of the higher end stuff uses dye and paint. I haven't played much with the candy paints yet, but some guys say that using a transparent paint gives a better 3d effect to the grain than dying does.
