thearabianmage
Hey y'all, I'm new here - I am unsure of any customary introductions that may be required, so if one is necessary I would happy to accommodate - back to topic, I am having quite a bit of trouble with a particular 'project'. My usual forum for this kind of thing has completely failed me, leaving me to venture out unto other forums with my various woes. One of the guitars for a band I tech for has conked out. I've opened it up and checked every single connection with the multimeter. Every connection is just fine, except for one - when I put the tip on the hot of the input jack and the lug on the pickup selector for the bridge pup, it comes out at 0.00k ohms as opposed to giving the output for the pup like it does for the middle and neck pup. I don't know why it does this or how to sort it out. All I know is that the guitar is completely dead, so any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! Southpa
No reading off the bridge pickup? I'd say you have a broken winding or a detached lead. Try getting a reading between the two pickup leads. If you get no DC resistance reading then the pickup needs to be swapped out and / or rewound.
