Metalhead28
Did you guys miss the broom on the far left with the mound in front of it? I sweep the floor before every pic just to piss everybody off.
Metalhead28
Testing out my dye mixture. This is an offcut from the top wood, but the figuring is bolder / more consistent across the top itself. I dig it.

Metalhead28
I shot a couple of heavy coats of lacquer on this test piece just for the hell of it.

Keegan
Maybe he's reverse color blind. He sees color where there is none. Like that guy that named Russian Blue cats or red grapes.
SJE-Guitars
I'll help Cam out here! The top one does have a very slight reddish tinge and the lacquered one does have a very faint blue hue - however I think these are just aberration of either monitors or the camera that took the photos in the first place. Or just a trick of the light in the photos. Edit: Forgot say the colour looks good . . I've played around with a black/dark grey myself but not going to use it on my current builds but probably will do in the future.
chops1983
I have to agree a little here. But its more of a slight purple for me. The lacquered pic has the blue left corner but the majority of it is a fine looking black. Nice!
Keegan
I dunno. Maybe it's your monitor. I have the saturation turned up on mine and the only hint of color is in the lacquered one, a slight reddish tint in the grain.

Cam
i am colour deficient with red and green or something like that, but the top one looks pretty red
Cam
I am saying this piece looks red and when he put lacquer on it, it turned blue... Edited June 14, 2009 by Cam
Metalhead28
LOL @ this discussion I assure you, there is no red, blue, purple or otherwise on there. Probably just the lighting or my shitty camera.
marko_slash
It depends on monitor.
Cam
If anyone wants to study up and knows lots about computers. This is my computer http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/ho/WF...18-3466274.html I don't know what a good or bad monitor is, but im guessing its the colour deficiency? Metalhead28
I'm waiting for the weather to straighten up around here so I can get on to finishing. It's been ridiculously hot, humid, and raining most of the time for the last couple weeks. In the meantime, here are a couple shots of the top after staining:
