metallicaforlife Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 Is there a difference between off white and vintage white? Quote
anderekel Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 As far as a technical sense would be, off white would be the paint is tinted like that. The vintage white on an actual vintage instrument would be white paint and the clear has tinted over time. Otherwise I don't know. Quote
metallicaforlife Posted May 10, 2009 Author Report Posted May 10, 2009 So you cant just buy the color vintage white but you can with off white and they look pretty identical? Quote
Keegan Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 (edited) Off-white might be a little lighter. You probably want aged white or parchment. Here's aged white by Lindy Fralin: Here's vintage white from a Duncan Antiquity: Here's cream from Warmoth: I particularly like coffee-dyed white, but it only works on pickup covers. Here's what it looked like on my strat: As you can see, aged white and coffee-dyed are the closest. Coffee-dying makes them look dirtier and old though. Edited May 10, 2009 by Keegan Quote
metallicaforlife Posted May 10, 2009 Author Report Posted May 10, 2009 i mean like this color of off white http://www.colourlovers.com/wallPaper/1600..._perfection.png Quote
Keegan Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 Yeah, vintage white is definitely darker than that. Quote
anderekel Posted May 10, 2009 Report Posted May 10, 2009 If you're goin' by color alone, vintage white seems to be more of a green tint as well, instead of the cream color of what you showed. Quote
metallicaforlife Posted May 10, 2009 Author Report Posted May 10, 2009 well what is the closest color to this http://www.kurosawagakki.com/sh_dr/pix/03_...250ii_89_hd.jpg and http://www.kurosawagakki.com/sh_dr/pix/03_...250ii_89_bd.jpg Quote

anderekel Posted May 11, 2009 Report Posted May 11, 2009 Just as a warning I've heard ReRanch can be slow because it's only one guy and he does it as a side business. Quote
anderekel Posted May 12, 2009 Report Posted May 12, 2009 Oh, and just to make sure, I've heard the stuff is great, so I wasn't saying don't get it, just be patient Quote
