Hi everyone,

I'd like to finish my neck just like this one:

you know, the color of the vintage necks.. :D

I posted this pic because you can see near the pocket side the difference between before and after..

I tried with shellac, but I got a little different color, not what I wanted..so I'll start it again..

what is the most common way to get this? I know there's a tutorial on this site, but I can't understand what kind of colors are those suggested by the article..

maybe it is aniline?

You can try with yellow tint sadolin. That is specifically for tinting purpose.

Going down on the page you can select the color of tint. Before applying of course you'll need to remove the old finish of the neck. Apply more coats if you want stronger tint of yellow. After applying sadolin you can lacquer the neck if you want.
