live2rock19
So I have a guitar which I want to draw on. I would probably want to use pastel pencils, maybe some paint markers, pencil, pen. what would be the best base coat to put on the guitar to be able to draw on it. I was thinking maybe some primer and then some flat white over it...other than that I really don't know also, since i am going to draw on it, will finishing it be even more difficult? since it will obviously not have completely smooth surface is there anyone out there that has tried this before? I would greatly appreciate your advice thanks
B. Aaron
I'd recommend going to your local Art Shoppe and talking to the people who work there. I don't mean some place like Michael's - I mean a place specializing in art supplies for professionals and university art students. They should have ideas about what kind of coatings you can use over pastels and the likes. P.S. I have already done this myself, but the products I have access to may not be available in your area. In the interest of building relationships with other people in your LOCAL community and making cross-disciplinary links with pros in other fields, I would strongly recommend meeting these people yourself rather than just taking my advice (instead of meeting some neat new people!).
