rcflyer23
I have started my first build and have a set of P90 Dog ear pickups as far as the body route goes for these do I route them just like a soap bar pickup or do i need to compensate for the ears so that they can bet set in the body as well or do I just route like for the soap bar for the wires and slight protrusion and top mount them to the guitar boday? I tried to do a search but didn't find anything specific. Thanks, Kevin
Reinhold
Does this help, because you would think that if they mattered, stewmac would have different templates for both. http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Tools/Template...g_Template.html Edited June 11, 2010 by Reinhold
rcflyer23
Does this help, because you would think that if they mattered, stewmac would have different templates for both. http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Tools/Template...g_Template.html I looked at that and I thought that was the case but I have seen stewmac have one thing for something and not the other. Guess I can lay everything out tonight and get the routing started. Thanks, Kevin
WezV
i have always found the stew-mac template too large for standard soap bar covers... works great for dog-ears though. here are some pics of a 55 lp junior showing the traditional route gibson use http://cvguitars.com/55LPJunior/ tbh i see no real reason not to just make it flat on the bottom

I plan on just making mine flat. This build is really more of a practice build that anything. I am made numerous stupid mistakes with it and doubt that it will amount to much of a playable guitar but you have to start somewhere and I already have a second one in mind and have learned alot with this build so that's what it's all about I guess.
