Lotza_Noize
Need some advice on spring locations. I am going to have installed on my Ibanez both the Tremol-No device and 1 maybe 2 ESP Trem Stops. I would have to place only 2 springs at the very top and very bottom locations. And they will not be crossed. Just straight back off the tremolo. Question is, do I need to have 3 springs? What may happen if I just use the two and the top and bottom? Are there stronger tremolo springs out there? Need some advice please. Thanks in advance.
Batfink
No, you don't have to have 3 springs, i know a few players who only use two but if you're used to playing with the tension of three you'll have to modify your playing technique. The springs that Gotoh supply with their 1996 Floyd's are stronger than 'normal' strat springs but they are also about 1/4" shorter which may or may not be a problem for you. Does Gotch sell just the springs anywhere?
Batfink
Not that i've seen but the importers over here are WD Music (just checked the US company site and they don't appear to carry Gotoh). Try to find the importer and fire them a mail, you never know, they might have a couple kicking around. I've got a couple i could let you have but snail mail from London to Texas could take a while Mind you have you tried it with only two of the existing springs ? I've made a couple of guitars for Kevon Dillard over there (the Intellishred and Arpeggio Madness auther) and he only uses 2 springs and i've used just normal strat springs and it's not like it's all floppy (!?*!?*). Personally i use three but i'm a divebomber as oppossed to Kevin who's a flutterer......(and also 300 times a better player than me)

Both of my guitars are at the painter at the moment. But as soon as I have the setup done on them, I may ask about them then. Thanks
