Any one use Peruvian Walnut?

If so let me know how it worked and what it looked/sounded like.

Post some pics if you have them

I used it for some necks a long time ago.. was the softest walnut i'd ever seen. it was like alder.

Nogal(peruvian walnut) is very similar in properties to American Walnut, the biggest difference is where the tree grew. In the moister areas the wood is soft as stated above, in the hills it is more dense. It is easy to work, and fills and finishes to a nioce dark brown color without much character. You won't find many examples of it as yet, it has only become readilly available in the states for about the past 20 years. I am sure you will find examples as time goes on.
