bigbluesd
Bought a $30 Craigslist special, the wood that one of the trem posts sits in is cracked and falling out into the trem cavity. I'm going to attempt a repair like this, but would like to be able to use something from Lowe's this weekend (I don't think they carry basswood). Ibanez catalog from 1986 says the body is basswood. Can I use something like poplar for the plug without a problem?
Southpa
Ya, go for it if its the same place as the example and can be covered. Poplar is pretty close to basswood in density. Edited August 28, 2010 by Southpa
Reinhold
My AC Moore sells basswood dowels and basswood for whittling, check a craft store.
