guitar2005
I'm a little confused here. I always assumed that a Tele bridge was narrower than a Strat bridge since the neck heel of a Telecaster is narrower than a Strat. I start looking at detailed specs for bridges and lo and behold, tele bridges have a wider string span than Strats. I'm not a Tele expert or anything but doesn't that make the tele more prone to having the strings slip off the edge of the fretboard? Sounds like a wider neck (like a Strat) would be a great idea for the telecaster... Am I missing something real obvious here?
Kammo1
Generally the width of the neck pocket is 2 3/16ths wide but the older strat models were very narrow like 2 1/8th and I have seen some a 1/16th less than the 2 1/8th!!! hope it helps. To me, it sounds like a strat neck heel would would better with the tele bridge.
