First Attempt At Recessed Control Knobs

I just got a wild hair today and decided to give it a shot, it's something I've never done before. I came up with using a 5/32" Roman Ogee router bit in my drill press, and then using a file and some sandpaper to smooth it out.

I think I got the depth right, but not to width for a standard knob.

Any tips? What do you think? Should I use different tools?

Oh, and this was practice wood, so no harm no foul.

I used a round handled screwdriver type handle with sandpaper wrapped around it..but I started with a forstner bit to get the initial depth.
