RickBlacker Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 Asked this in my explorer build thread but realized it really belongs here.... I've got a bridge that does not require any kind of trem route. It just sits on top of the body. I know that on Floyd style bridges I've always seen a ground wire soldered onto the claw. Not having that option here, is it required that i drill a small hole that ends up under the bridge so I can have a ground wire from the control cavity to the bridge? Ultimately, I guess what I'm asking is, do all bridges need to be grounded no matter what style? Quote
kpcrash Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 Simply, yes. A trem is grounded to the claw, hardtail style usually has wire from bridge to cavity, TOM has wire from stopbar to cavity, etc.... Quote

WezV Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 you drill it through from, or to, the post hole for a bridge like that. i must confess i often drill it to the bridge pickup cavity as its usually easier to drill to that point than the control cavity - just depends on the design edit: found a couple of pics (not one of mine) Quote
