Helldunkel
I'm a big fan of Oregon Myrtle. Is it readily available in Switzerland? SR nope, I import it directly from Oregon The Myrtlewood Tree is unique to two places in the world - The Holy Land and a small section of the Pacific Northwest. Most of the Oregon Myrtlewood grows from about Coos Bay, Oregon to San Francisco in California along the fog and rain dampened coastal area. When cut, the Myrtlewood yields some of the most varied colors and grain patterns to be found in a single species.

RestorationAD
Excellent. I am doing at least one myrtle top this year... Does the color change much when you oil the top? Since you have been using it for a while how does it hold up over time? (dents, cracks, color, etc...)

RestorationAD
It does not oxydize if that's your question? I meant does it change color or lose some of the details? You know how sometimes oil will make everything darker and sometimes hide slight color variations. Myrtle has so many colors in it... I want to make sure I don't destroy the vibrance by oiling the top. (of course I will test on scraps) It looks from the pictures that it just gets a little darker.
