zdrawcke Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 Hi, I was leveling the frets on my new unfinished maple neck and managed to get fine dust into maple fretboard, and now I cannot remove it. It just looks dirty and ugly... any chance of cleaning it?? Quote
Prostheta Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 Compressed air would be the first option as it is the least likely to cause any further problems. I used to wipe wood down with Acetone to draw dust out, although this may only smear dirt around the Maple. I would try air first. Quote
tjiscooler Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Id try a shopvac, then compressed air. If acetone doesnt work then you'll have to scrape or sand it away. Quote
KeithHowell Posted May 1, 2011 Report Posted May 1, 2011 Try a bit of masking tape or a blob of clean press stick. This also works if you get filings sticking to a magnet. Keith Quote
