PrestigeFan92
Does a maple fretboard or neck have to be finish with lacquer or nitro? Or can it be oiled? If I dont finish it with lacquer and decide on oil, what are the downfalls?

SR Or you can just hide the grime by using flat black latex house paint from Sherwin Williams. Give it that good old Goth look! Kidding ! Yes you can use oil not only do they show grime and dirt but I have seen some become Sticky. Many people prefer to use lacquer on the neck and mask off the fretboard. Not sure why? Then the fretboard looks like hell after a while of playing. I prefer to lacquer the whole thing but that's how I like it.
