Bmth Builder Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 Hey, I've got some tops to glue up in the future and I'm thinking about making some bow style clamps, Any one know the arc or radius needed to get even pressure across the whole top? and a suitable wood material and thickness? Is it as complicated as they make out on their website or is it simply a 50" radius or something? You can see it at 1:20 here, Cheers Quote
dpm99 Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 This guys used a similar principle to make cauls: I think the Bowclamp is mostly just marketing, but I think the concept is a good one. He says he's discovered the perfect radius for equal pressure. I doubt it. It looks like about a 15' radius to me, but that's just a guess. Quote

Linny Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 2-3mm bow at each end over 300mm would work. Quote
