GuitarMaestro Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 I just wanted to recommend Tom.Thiel@Worldpath.net for buying neck blanks. His company has no final name yet, because it is a huge company supplying Fender & Gibson and alot of other big companies with neck woods and also supplies the boat building industry. He founded a new division inside his company with the aim to sell wood to private builders as well. This division has no name & website yet so I can only give you the email address. They were the only supplier able to sell me a flamed hardmaple neck-through neck blank and I never bought from such a proffesional company before. They answer in no time have a great service and an immense knowledge concerning guitar woods. They give you a detailed invoice containing nice info on your wood like the specific gravity of the piece you buy, etc. They have great prices and top notch quality and because of their huge stock they can supply even the most special neck blanks. So if you need a special neck blank or just a nice piece of figured maple definately check them out. Quote
GuitarMaestro Posted January 13, 2004 Author Report Posted January 13, 2004 Sorry I made a mistake in the email adress. It's TomThiel@worldpath.net without the "." I wrote in the first post. Quote
Snork Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 how much is it for a decent piece of maple. or how much did you buy it for? Quote
GuitarMaestro Posted January 13, 2004 Author Report Posted January 13, 2004 I bought a huge piece of highly figured curly hardmaple which is very rare for $150. It is 40" x 6" x 10/4" which should be enough for 3-4 necks. Quote
