shmee_shmee
I want to get my fiance a new neck for his guitar. Could I pay someone to build him one from this site? He tried building one, but that ended with frustration..... These are taken dirrectly from his "plans folder", hopefully this helps: custom 4X2 headstock, that I can supply a drawing for. Kind of like the Jackson AT1 mahogany wood with ebony fretboard top adjust truss rod-dual action 25.5" scale with 24 frets. (after the 24th fret a 1/4 extension) right handed nut width of 1 11/16" w/locking nut plateau for an R4 Stainless steel jumbo fretwire (6100ss) compound radius of 10-16" Fatback neck contour tuner holes standard grover sized should do no face dots but white side dots
dpm99
There are a lot of great builders at this site that could do a fine job of that project, and I hope someone will PM you an offer. If that doesn't happen, I'd encourage you to do a custom neck from Warmoth.com. Other than the headstock, they could do that neck.
Ripthorn
One crucial bit of information is the neck heel profile. Regardless of who or where, that profile will be needed. Is this to go on an existing guitar? If so, what kind? Unfortunately, I can't help you with building it, but I know that whoever does will need that info. westhemann
Doug with Soulmate Guitars does that as a business. You won't find better work or a nicer guy. http://soulmateguitars.com/ Also,HuntinDoug does CNC rough necks here and there.
shmee_shmee
He built the guitar himself, from what I understand, the neck is like a straticaster(????) I found the warmoth site, and selected the info (took a while ), but its very expensive. And the top of the neck extends too much. Shawn's extends a quarter inch. Soulmate guitars is how this came about. Shawn tried them, but it was something about the radius that they wouldn't do.... Who's HuntinDoug? Should I know him? westhemann
http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showuser=8067 he's a member here.I don't know if he would do a finished neck or not,but he does CNC work and I have bought rough unassembled necks from him. Warmoth is expensive,But custom necks are not cheap either

Mender
I'm sorry but this site says that IO don't have permission to use the private messenger. Am I doing something wrong? You need to have made a certain number of posts before you can use private messaging. This was brought in to stop spammers from joining and sending PMs to members. I don't know how many posts you need to make, but I'm sure someone will pop in soon and let you know
Prostheta
I'll fix this when I get to a desktop. Done. Clicking "report" is also useful to rouse mods for this ;-) shmee_shmee: The only problem I can conceive of, is if your husband used a "non-standard" neck pocket, which is where the neck fits. Are you up for a little detective work with a small ruler? I understand that building an instrument is not something you are 100% au fait with, but that's part of the sweetness is achieving this. I am sure your husband will very much appreciate the surprise even more because of it.
