skibum5545 Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 What programs are out there that could be used for computer designs of some guitars (or basses)? I've seen some cool computerized plans around, and wondered where I could download a program that would help me design my guit. Any help would be great! skibum5545 Quote
weezerboy Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 you want any CAD programme that you can find at www.download.com some are better than others but use what suits you Quote
Digideus Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 http://www.guitarbuild.com/ They have software and guitar plans in the downloads section Quote
KeithHowell Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 I use TurboCAD. They have a full learning addition on their site for free. It is pretty easy to use as well if you have a bit of drafting knowledge. Keith Quote
Hotrock Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 Never underetimate the power of a pencil and bit of paper (and I'm a draftsman). Reminds me of the story where NASA spent $100,000's to develop the pen that would write in zero gravity. The USSR had it right, because their astronaughts just used pencils. Quote
mullmuzzler Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 CorelDRAW works for me (2D). mullmuzzler | OSSMT Quote

Gobbo Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 Reminds me of the story where NASA spent $100,000's to develop the pen that would write in zero gravity. The USSR had it right, because their astronaughts just used pencils. not only does it write in zero gravity, but it also writes under water, on glass, in sub zero temperatures, and potentially on the surface of venus. at least thats what i was given in the story whenever i design anything, it goes on paper first. easier to erase and whatnot before you go and make it nice and pretty on computer Quote
EKG Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 Not me....straight from me mind to the screen Quote

krizalid Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 i find it better with lots of papers and pencils... and cardboard for templates.... anything as long as i can hold it and view it with my hand and eyes looking at it... Quote
