MP63
I have a nice solid-body, guitar made from birch. All I have are water-based stain and Minwax Fast Drying Polyurethane. Any experiences with anything like that? Thanks, Mike
westhemann
Test it on scrap.I have had success doing that before on my orange strat I made last year among others...You just have to wait until the stain completely dries. I also put on a very thin rubbed on first coat of poly after the stain dried and let that cure before roughing it up and adding the topcoat. Some of the stain came up and mixed in with the first coat, but after that cured all was stable. MP63
Thanks. Yeah, I was wondering if the poly smudges or pulls some of the stain off. Mike
