Brazilian Rosewood Strat neck blank

Robert Graf

Recommended Posts

I've got a nice rosewood board, dimensions 26-5/8" x 4" x7/8". Would make a great strat neck or similar. Straight grained and quartered figure. There's no wax, surface finish or any wetting agent used in the pics, just foam abrasive polished. $220, shipping included, US only. Paypal or bitcoin.

If it weren't for the restrictions on international shipping, something like this would be perfect for a future ProjectGuitar.com feature build. The fact of the matter is that making any instrument that will have complex finished shapes in a beautiful raw wood requires very specific care and attention. Literally nothing can be allowed to go wrong. It's an important mindframe to describe.

This is in no way reference to you blowing out into that truss rod slot, Andrew! I bet you though, that if that were Brazilian Rosewood instead of Wengé, it wouldn't have happened....

@Robert Graf - thanks for posting. Is this part of a larger stockpile of similar products?

I've got more, of various sizes. Let me know what you're looking for. This one is the only quartered neck blank I have. I've got some various rosewoods (cocobolo, mpingo,, kingwood, Honduras rose), as well as some more Brazilian. Not a ton, but it ranges from 1.5 turning squares up to some 1.75 inch lumber, and even a partial log section, some of which I bought from Brazil (old growth)

Oh man that's tempting.... I've got a commission pending that'll make this much easier to consider. I'll get back to you soon on this!

I've got an offer that's close to the stated price already. I don't expect this board to last long. It's been a while since I've seen any Brazilian boards over 3/4" thick come up. This one's listed on eBay, as well.
