Brian
Hi Folk's and before you ask no that's not me in the photo On the below picture which way would you shape the body? with the darker line's flowing toward or away from the horns of the body? I'm thinking about getting this piece of wood since I can get 5 single piece body's made out of it............Yeah it's 2" thick to boot
Matia
bloody hell brian!!!! Thats one hell of a nice chunk of wood youhave there!!! Personally I'd have the curve flowing away from the body to match with the rounded end of the guitar. Lets face it with a piece of wood like that you cant go wrong! Tell you what it would look great on an old flying V copy as well with the lines following the "wings" to each point! If you have any spare leftover for a solid body let me know... I'll buy it off you! Cheers!
cerealk
I would go towards the horns so the wood grain run along to the tips of the horns. But I would try to see if the other way looked cool too!
guitar_ed
Me Want! I had the same question with the Walnut guitar. I have decided to center the butt end of the neck into the peak of the arc of the grain. Guitar Ed BTW: What kind of wood is that?
Brian
It's Kelobra, a Mexican hardwood that some people try to pass off as Koa

Brian
Well considering it's size I could possibly slice out two complete 1 piece guitars, talk about the ultimate in neck through's
Jehle
Well considering it's size I could possibly slice out two complete 1 piece guitars, talk about the ultimate in neck through's And you could make one left handed and the other right handed. They would be complete mirror images of each other.
