joris
If I use a tun-o-matic bridge, should the radius of my fingerboard be the same as the bridge itself?? If so, what radius does my fingerboard have to be ?? (can't seem to find a non trem bridge fast. they only have the tun-o-matic type on stock.) daveq
For a cylindrical fretboard, this is ideal. For a compound radius, the bridge can actually be set a couple of inches flatter but in either case - when you are within 2 inches or so, you're in good shape. daveq
Oh yeah, I don't know which brand you are using but the Schaller tune-o-matic's are 12" radius (at least the one's I have seen).
joris
i'm not going for a compound radius, so I guess I'll try the tun-o-matic. Seems theu have the tail piece too. any idea on the radius? I still have to make my radius blocks, so no problem there. (i think)
Bingo328
The radius of the tailpiece shouldn't matter as long as the strings don't cross the tune o matic at too harsh of an angle. Gotoh t-o-m also uses the 12" radius btw. I think thats the standard for most of em.
