Dude for now just buy a cheap ass Ibanez GAX seven string because if you screw up building you're...well, screwed

If everyone here thought that way... then what's the point of this site? :D

Well at least if I screw up it will be a learning experiance. If it's to hard I'll try something simpler.

Thanks for that site.

That's definately the right attitude! :D

I've never made a 7-string but I can't think of why it'd be that much more difficult or that much more prone to "screw up" than a 6-string. The parts are readily available, etc. What do you mean by "something simpler?"

Worst. advice. ever.

As for pickups, Both DiMarzio and Seymor Duncan make 7-string versions of their most popular pickups. Duncan, I believe, will actually make a7-string copy of *ANY* pickup they make.

And how much harder are neck-throughs compared to bolt-ons?

i have a neck through i am working on in the pinned topics...just keep track of it as i build it

the hardest part is the finishing because you really can't turn it over effectively..but i am working on a jig for that
