David Ivy
@mistermikev Thank you. I am pretty proud of my work on this neck.red oak with walnut fretboard & red oak fret markers. I compared it with a factory neck & I have got it almost spot on for thickness & demintions.

David Ivy
I routed the body tonight. The pickup cavities & the control cavity & neck pocket. I routed the Jack plate cavity on the backside. I wanted to make this Some thing a little different. Bizman62
Are you going to leave most of the beautiful wood visible with that T-type control cavity? Having the jack on the opposite side makes it super easy to fold the cables neatly inside the cavity. Ergonomically it doesn't make any difference, I suppose both sides are equally good, but it sure makes a difference in the looks.
David Ivy
@Bizman62 I'm thinking about painting it silver glitter with black hardware.
David Ivy
Today I did some body carving and sanding Carving the arm comfort curve. Then the belly comfort curve and bottom horn curve. Then I fit the neck just to see what it looks like.
David Ivy
I routed a round over on the body & I put the frets in the fretboard on the neck.
David Ivy
I crowned , rounded over , leveled. & polished the frets. Then I painsteakingly sanded and shaped my first bone nut , & slotted the nut.
Bizman62
Don't you just love the subtle scent of sanding bone! Good job on the shine, a lazier guy might have stopped after filing. At first I thought the truss rod was off but a closer look revealed that only the end slot is a tad wider on the bass side. Nothing to worry about! David Ivy
@Bizman62 sir the smell of sanding bone nuts is anything but subtle. Smells kinda like hair burning Lol...
David Ivy
Sprayed gray primer and let that dry. Then sprayed silver glitter on the body and the headstock.
David Ivy
I created my own waterslide headstock logos decals.

David Ivy
@Bizman62 I used green because my last name is Ivy and ivy is green and yellow compliments green.

David Ivy
Finally the paint is finished and it's assembled. However while doing the wiring I must have done something wrong. The pickups are not working, and the wires are different color code than the wiring diagram that I was following. Any helpful hints to get this straight would be greatly appreciated. Bizman62
Send a picture of your wiring and the diagram. As the colours didn't match it's possible that there's reversed wiring in several places, counteracting each other.
David Ivy
@Bizman62 will do. I'm at my day job so it will have to wait til I get home. But thank you sir appreciate it.

Bizman62
Thanks @David Ivy. Now to start with I must say I know basically nothing about electronics, I rely solely on diagrams by someone who knows. Prepare yourself with a little salt. Looking at the diagram it seems that the green and white humbucker cables and the ground should populate the two center lugs on one side. On your wiring it doesn't look that way. To me they even seem to be on the wrong side. The focus isn't the best, though, so I may see wrong. Another thing is that some wires seem to touch the next lug on the switch, especially the red one on the left. Tidying the loose ends might help with a shortcut if the wiring matches with the diagram. Here's a better picture of the diagram for those who know more about these things:
David Ivy
@Bizman62Thank you.for trying to help. On the humbucker pickup the black & white wires were soldered together & the green and bare wires were soldered together. I changed them to match the diagram.
