I'm in the UK, shipping either way between us isnt too expensive, but it depends on what you want done really - I dont generally do things like solid colour resprays, but if you're after more specialist finishes or vintage restorations I can help - drop me an e-mail and let me know what the project is and I can give youa quote.

Thanks for the hints....any more companies I should ask?

@decalshopmike: Thanks for your offer, but I guess what I need is work that won't interest you much. I am just looking for some company that would do some nice wet and deep looking clear finishes with polyurethane for some of my guitars, as I am not very good at spraying finishes and a pro clear finish really enhances a nice

stained/figured guitar. But if you are still interested please let me know as shipping to UK would be really cheap in comparison with the USA.

You might try to find a local automotive painter who is sympathetic - I've got a guy who says he's willing to spray clear poly or lacquer for me as soon as I have something to spray. I'm not set up to shoot poly, so I'll be taking him up on his offer as soon as I finally finish a project. :D

I was going to suggest what L just said - although I wouldnt use a car spray place as they areny generally very good at smooth finishes - if you look at the paint on any car you'll see what I mean, looks nice from a distance, but looks like orange peel close up.

Best bet is get someone who does motorcycle spray work, things like race reps on sports bikes - these guys usually do a much better job, and are often cheaper if its just clear coat or solid colours.

OK, here are a few repair shops that appear to do guitar finishing in central Europe and the UK - I say "appear" because my German is inadequate and my Dutch nonexistent.

From the UK:

DM Guitars

Chandler Guitars

Eccleshall Guitars

Dalmedo Guitars

From The Netherlands:

Vox Humana

and, finally, Aus Deutschland

Guitar Doc

Staufer Guitars

I hope that helps, but my language limitations keep me from checking further - I have heard great things about Vox Humana, but you should probably ask Alex about 'em. As for the German sites, well, let's just my German (school and grandparents) isn't very good, but I think they're applicable. Good luck.

You could ask TSL, doesn't he finish his own guitars?

Not actually seen him floating around the forum for a few days though, must be potato season. :D

Thanks guys.

@lovekraft: Hey thank you VERY much for all the links. Actually I did look through google myself but I did not find the two german companies you found which both look very promising. I already contacted them, so lets see what their prices are.

Greets,

MK!
