killemall8
Here are a few updates. Took this black flame SS out to clean up for final presentation. Hes only the second ever local guy to buy one of my guitars. Also finished up the sunset explorer. Buyer is adding his own hardware and pickups. That one came out great! I saved the top on this one for something special. I resawed it from a massive piece i got last year.

ScottR
Awesome! I was going to say that's an excellent dye job, but it isn't is it? That's all toner if I'm not mistaken. Was this the one where you bookmatched on a live edge, or a depression and filled the area with resin? SR

Looking at the pics, it looks like it has little dimples in the clear. but its actually the reflection of some red metal flake i put in the kandy red

killemall8
So another update. Ive decided to stop making necks all together. I still never found out the buzz issue. I also had a retun and and also had to cancel a build half way through this week, which totalled 3100$, most of which was out of pocket. From now on i'll only be building body blanks and warmoth builds.

killemall8
So somebody pointed out something to me on one of my guitars. I dont think its true, because i dont see it, but allegedly its the cause of the buzzing on all my guitars. I wont post it here, but if you are curious, message me. Drak
Sorry, no one here will allow you to buy a Warmoth neck Luis. I'm going to call Warmoth and tell them about you and to refuse all your orders! And if I have to, I'll call Pimentel & Sons and set up an appointment FOR you. Don't make me go all Daddy Drak on you...

It's one of those things I randomly remember throughout the day ever since @killemall8 went public about the buzzing issue on this forum. So yeah, please let me know as well what it is and if we can finally put an end to this. Godspeed man!
killemall8
So no actual discovery on the fret buzz.. So I've been sticking to making bodies. Finished a couple of long term builds too.
mistermikev
the flying v is a standout for me. just so much natural beauty there. you could add literally anything to that and it will look great. the purple is just a fantastic color... lots of depth. the explorer - goo goo ga ga. setting the bar as usual. nice work. ScottR
Absolutely stunning as usual Luis. I love the bookmatch and finish on that quilt, and the finish on the inside bottom of control cavity--very cool! All that sitting on top of a fantastic slab of black limba! It sometimes feels like you've cornered the market on wood porn. SR
killemall8
Here is a little update. I found a local guy who does fantastic fretwork. He used to work for jackson and some other companies. Interestingly enough, his master fretwork still ends up having the same issue. Check out this video. When i pluck a string firmly, you can see how the whole string vibrates so much it hits all of the frets.
Bizman62
That's unbelievable! You aren't even hitting the string, just releasing it! I had to test that with some of my guitars just to check how much the string moves and can I make it buzz. Well, the low E seems to buzz more or less on most of my guitars (both self and factory built), not from the very start but for a little while after a second or three, cleaning again. The one with the lowest action buzzes a bit up to the fourth fret or so. That one also has the most flexible neck of the six.
Drak
You've completely exhausted the physical possibilities, time to go metaphysical. Look for an energy healer in your area, you've got some sort of energetic disturbance going on. In the part of the country where you live, the place is crawling with them. You could probably throw a rock from where you stand and hit one in the head. Although that would not be a very kind thing to do...
