Lmnop Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 This may seem like a pretty stupid question to most of you, but this is the first guitar I'm making. How do you attach a standard strat string tree? I appreciate any help thanks a lot. Quote
jbkim Posted February 15, 2004 Report Posted February 15, 2004 Just screws as far as I can tell. Look here and click on the "[Zoom]" for a bigger picture. Quote
Scott Rosenberger Posted February 16, 2004 Report Posted February 16, 2004 String the guitar first then place the string tree and mark where you want to drill the pilot hole with an awl or other pointy thing. drill the hole and attach the string tree Quote
Brian Posted February 16, 2004 Report Posted February 16, 2004 Welcome to the forum Lmnop What Scott said, just be sure your pilot holes are small enough to let the screws still bite into the wood and your String Tree's are close enough to the nut to give the strings themselves a nice hard down angle so they will eliminate any unwanted harmonic tones coming from the strings when they are normally struck.
